Customized Seawater RO System
Ultratec Customized Seawater RO Systems are engineered and assembled according to the customer’s actual water requirements, seawater conditions, required freshwater production, application, and site requirements. Instead of supplying a fixed standard machine, we develop the appropriate seawater reverse osmosis system around the requirements of each project.
Our customized seawater RO solutions are designed to convert seawater into treated freshwater for commercial, industrial, marine, hospitality, offshore, aquaculture, and other applications where a dependable freshwater supply is required. System capacity can be developed according to the required daily production, from smaller seawater watermakers and commercial systems to large industrial seawater desalination plants.
Depending on the project, the system can be supplied in a suitable skid-mounted, enclosed, or containerized configuration. Ultratec supports customers from initial water analysis and technical consultation through system assembly, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and after-sales support across the UAE.
What Is a Customized Seawater RO System?
A customized seawater RO system is a seawater desalination solution designed around a specific customer’s requirements rather than a single fixed model.
Seawater contains high concentrations of dissolved salts and minerals, making it unsuitable for most freshwater applications without treatment. A seawater reverse osmosis system uses high-pressure membrane technology to separate dissolved salts and other unwanted substances from the feedwater, producing a treated freshwater stream.
The correct system configuration depends on factors such as seawater quality, required freshwater production, operating hours, intended water use, installation conditions, available power, and site requirements.
This is why Ultratec does not treat every seawater RO project as the same application. Our team evaluates the available information and recommends a suitable system configuration for the individual project.
What Does the Customized Seawater RO System Do?
The primary purpose of the system is to produce freshwater from seawater.
It can be designed for customers who need a reliable source of treated water where conventional freshwater supplies are limited, unavailable, or insufficient.
Depending on the application, a customized seawater RO plant can be used to produce water for:
- Drinking water production
- Hotels and resorts
- Industrial process water
- Commercial facilities
- Marine vessels and yachts
- Offshore facilities
- Aquaculture operations
- Remote coastal projects
- Construction and infrastructure projects
- Power and energy facilities
- Oil and gas applications
- Other seawater desalination requirements
The final treated-water quality depends on the feedwater characteristics, required application, and selected treatment configuration.
Customized Seawater Reverse Osmosis for Different Capacities
Every project has a different water demand. Ultratec can configure seawater RO systems according to the required freshwater production per day.
Typical capacity requirements may include:
- 500 GPD seawater RO systems
- 1,000 GPD seawater RO systems
- 5,000 GPD seawater RO systems
- 10,000 GPD seawater RO systems
- 20,000 GPD seawater RO plants
- 50,000 GPD seawater RO plants
- 100,000 GPD seawater RO plants
- 250,000 GPD seawater RO plants
- 500,000+ GPD industrial seawater RO plants
- Custom-capacity seawater desalination systems
The required capacity is selected according to actual daily water demand, operating hours, storage requirements, seawater conditions, and project objectives.
If your required capacity does not match a standard range, a custom seawater RO system can be designed according to your required production.

How Does a Customized Seawater RO System Work?
The exact treatment arrangement is selected according to the customer’s seawater analysis and application. In general, seawater enters the treatment system and passes through appropriate pretreatment before reaching the reverse osmosis section. Pretreatment helps reduce suspended particles and other feedwater conditions that could affect membrane performance. A high-pressure pumping system then supplies the pressure required for the seawater reverse osmosis process. The seawater passes through RO membrane elements, producing a treated permeate stream while concentrated salts and rejected contaminants remain in the reject stream. The treated water can then receive additional post-treatment where required before being transferred to storage or the final point of use. The actual treatment configuration is project-specific and is determined by Ultratec’s technical team after reviewing the available water and application information.
